I was able to experience the areas of television news that were predominantly run by male engineers and knew technology was where I wanted to be. There was growth, opportunity, excitement, and variety in the work, as each day was new and different. It was exhilarating, scary, frustrating, hair-pulling, endorphin-raising, and never knowing what's going to happen next type of work. I fell more times on my glorious maximus than I care to remember. But I kept at it. There was so much to do and so much to learn. I was laying down more neural pathways than I knew my brain could handle. Technology was moving at lightning speed and I learned to adapt to this fast pace. Working in a newsroom is akin to a hospital emergency room (without the blood). It's quick, chaotic, and stress inducing. I was fortunate to 'fall' into this career as it has served me well these past years. My skills and talent were put to good use as my ability for innovative problem solving and alternative methods of achieving desired outcomes led me to where I am now.
